I started teaching yoga on the beach in 2017 because it’s the same year that I got my yoga certification and I moved to Costa Rica in September. DJ was under two years old.

When I first moved to Tamarindo, there was a big storm. Nate. And after the storm passed, a tree was laying on the rocks in front of where I would teach yoga in my future.

Because when I first started teaching yoga on the beach, I taught in front of Ocho Beach Bungalows.

Imagine beach yoga followed by breakfast tacos and mimosas. It was very similar to the yoga and tacos I practiced in Texas before the move.

84 examples are provided in a Brene Brown book, Atlas of the Heart.

Go back in your memory set and remember when [the emotion you choose to feel more in your future}.

And your brain in the memory will re-dose your brain with as similar chemicals as it can and you will feel the emotion in your body as best as your brain can remember.

So when I felt, JOY, I had just successfully made a goal at work. Meeting work goals in my past brought me JOY.

I have also felt other emotions like anger, peace, sadness, powerful, and scared as a reference to having more than one emotional example word.

For me personally, I’m quick and good to find emotions like anger and sadness and my physical structure has spent a lot of time in these particular emotions for personal reasons. And without judgement, I’m working to retrain my brain and use neuroplasticity intentionally to craft a future that is more optimistic.
