I am a Stay At Home Mother

The year is 2016 and my first child has just been born.

I live in my in-laws house. I give birth to my first child in the house my ex-husband grew up in.

I thought I wanted to be a stay at home mom but it’s hard, y’all.

The first year was really rough for me. Even though I was living in a house with water and food and all the things that come with having a house, I felt really alone with my kid. All I did was spend time with him. When he woke up - I woke up - when he slept - I slept - or I didn’t I did laundry or made food or read about being a mom on FB.

I do not regret becoming a mother. I don’t. But being a mom that first year was really, really hard for me.

And I’m happy that I decided to keep the placenta. I had it dried and encapsulate and then when I felt a bit blue I would pop a pill. It would help a bit for sure but microdosing placenta is only a tiny fraction of the nutrition that a new mother needs to ingest.
